Džamija Podgorica mosque

One of the doors was open when I walked into the courtyard, but closed while I was reading the history of the mosque, and I didn’t open it. I really did want to see inside, but I felt very much a gawker. I have no connection with Islam. I wondered what it was like to be a worshiper or a caretaker at a house of worship which had several times been destroyed, most recently in the last decade. You will notice the TIKA plaque. What’s it mean to worship at a temple which has been renovated with funds from the Turkish state?
