Acceptance

I think we use words like „unacceptable“ in an effort to lie to ourselves that our acceptance of, or failure to accept, state injustice has some meaning, that we are not completely impotent to effect change in response to our recognition of grave injustice. There are limits, you know! Assange may be in a show trial taking place in a kangaroo court presided over by puppets doing the bidding of the US puppeteer, but putting him in a glass box, why, that’s, that’s just unacceptable. That crosses the uncrossable red line which I need to continually redraw as I back further and further into the abyss.

People seem also to increasingly „seek humor“ which is in fact not humorous at all, with comments like „this would be funny if it were not so …“ There’s no humor in cruel state oppression, nor in an impotent populace endlessly seeking mindless video distraction.
